When sowers and reapers run together
Drawn from teaching on Last Days with Brandon Biggs.
Amos heard the Lord say, “The days are coming… when the reaper will be overtaken by the plowman and the planter by the one treading grapes.” (Amos 9:13, NIV). That picture — sowers and reapers almost on top of each other — is older than any livestream. A recent Last Days prayer stream kept returning to it: seed into good ground, a harvest mindset for the kingdom, and urgency that what used to take a long time can move faster than our old timelines. That is a marker to watch, not a date to tattoo on the calendar.
The same stream pressed another biblical thread: prayer that crosses language lines — every tribe and tongue in one accord. Revelation already showed the end of that story: “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9, NIV).
And underneath the visions and the weather prayers sat the plain gospel clock: “I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2, NIV). I’m not dating a national revival. I’m not chasing political scorecards. I’m noting what Scripture already told us to expect and to do — sow, pray with the global church, and invite people to Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, while it is still called today.
What we can do
- Sow on purpose this week — gospel, generosity, or a hard conversation you’ve delayed — and trust God with the yield.
- Pray with the nations in view — even one minute for believers you will never meet in this life.
- Keep the altar call simple for anyone near you who is ready: confess Jesus as Lord; believe God raised Him (Romans 10:9, NIV).
- Refuse date-setting. “But about that day or hour no one knows…” (Matthew 24:36, NIV).
