Walk in the gift God gave you
Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, did not save us so we could spend our lives hunting someone else’s anointing.
I’ve been sitting with a simple correction: people asking a minister to put “their mantle” on a prayer cloth, or demanding a double portion like it was a product. The pushback was right. That gift is not cheap, and it is not ours to peddle. If the Holy Spirit leads a servant to lay hands on someone, that is His leading — not a mail-order upgrade.
Scripture already told us the better way. “Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us…” (Romans 12:6, KJV). Peter says, “As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” (1 Peter 4:10, KJV).
You don’t need my gift. I don’t need yours. We need Jesus — and then faithful use of whatever He put in our hands.
What we can do
- Stop comparing mantles. Ask the Lord what He actually assigned you this season.
- Yield. “Have thine own way, Lord” is still a good prayer when we want control more than obedience.
- Pray for the ones who wandered — children, spouses, co-workers — that their eyes would be opened (Ephesians 1:18) and that they would come to repentance. God is “not willing that any should perish” (2 Peter 3:9, KJV).
- Make your own calling sure. If you’ve never confessed Jesus Christ as Lord, do it. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9, KJV).
I’m not selling a shortcut. I’m saying the door is still Jesus, and the gift in you is enough to obey with.
