Pay for what you generate
AI can draft ads, swap a product into a clip, and clean up a talking-head video. That's real leverage for a small shop that can't hire a studio.
The trap is treating one monthly platform as the only door. Subscriptions rise. Terms change. Exports disappear on a timer. You can end up renting your own creative history.
A cleaner pattern
- Keep the prompts and the outputs. Save the exact instructions and the files they produced in a place you control.
- Set a budget before you generate. Tell the tool a hard dollar cap for the batch so a runaway job doesn't drain the account.
- Prefer pay-as-you-go rails when you can. Pay for the image or the seconds of video you actually used.
- Compare models on the same brief. Same product photo, same rules — see which model is good enough for the job.
- Don't build the whole business on one login. If the platform vanished tomorrow, could you still remake last month's ads from your notes?
What we can do this week
If you use AI for creatives at all: pick one recurring job (a product shot, a short promo, a before/after), write the prompt down, generate it once with a spending cap, and archive the prompt + result together. That's the seed of a system you own.
For AI Corp, the same rule applies as everywhere else: use what we sell, and don't depend on a black box we couldn't explain to a customer.
