Get your heart ready
Jesus Christ, my Lord and Savior, is not a hobby. He is the door. When life feels loud and the news feels heavy, the first work is still the same: get your heart ready.
That means coming to the end of yourself and admitting you need a Savior. Scripture says, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9, KJV). It also says His goodness leads us toward repentance — not shame for its own sake, but a turning toward Him (Romans 2:4).
Jesus also called His people the salt of the earth. Salt that loses its savor isn't useful. So here's the check I need myself: am I still salty? When someone spends time around me, do they get thirsty for living water, or just a lukewarm copy of whatever is trending?
What we can do
- Ask Him honestly. “Search me, O God” is still a good prayer (Psalm 139:23).
- Confess what needs confessing and receive the forgiveness He already paid for.
- Stay in the Word instead of outsourcing your walk to a feed or a formula.
- Be salt on purpose this week — one kind word, one prayer, one quiet act of love on your street.
I'm not setting a date on a calendar. I'm saying the invitation is open now. Jesus paid the price. Come.
